First Day Hike - Missouri Mines SHS - First Day Hike

Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, at 9 a.m. - Missouri Mines SHS Join Missouri Mines State Historic Site staff as we start off the new year with a First Day Hike on the new interpretive trail. This easy 1 mile hike includes interpretation of the historic mining structures, equipment, and the long term changes from the lead industry. This trail features a mix of surfaces, including gravel and pavement. Portions of the trail have steep slopes. Participants are encouraged to bring water and snacks and to dress appropriately. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
